Nomadica re-imagines and recombines the rich, soulful and righteously celebratory musics of the Arabs, Gypsies and Jews. Led by Juno-award winning trumpeter and composer, David Buchbinder and vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and dancer, Roula Said, the band is made up of some of Toronto's finest and most versatile musicians. Soaring vocals, a front line of masterful improvisors and a heavily funky rhythm section make Nomadica's sound truly exciting and infectious. Drawing from traditional Arabic and Roma songs, as well as instrumental dance music from the Jews and Gypsies of the Balkans and Eastern Europe, Nomadica weaves together a tapestry of sound that has deep roots in the ancestral lands and a real home in post-multicultural Toronto.
